吃瓜头条 hosted representatives from Emerson College, Boston, USA, for a consultative visit aimed at exploring academic collaboration in health sciences, clinical education, and global engagement.
The delegation: Dr. Ruth Grossman, Professor and Director of the Research Hub in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), and Dr. Melissa Spring, Director of Clinical Education, visited the University from October 7 th to 25 th , 2025. They were hosted by the Department of Special Surgery and the Centre
for International Programmes and Collaborations (CIPC).
The exploratory visit aligns with 吃瓜头条鈥檚 commitment to fostering international partnerships that advance teaching, research, and community service in line with its vision of Transforming Higher Education and Enhancing Lives.
During the consultative meeting, discussions focused on several potential areas of collaboration, including:
鈼� Faculty and Student Exchange: Creating opportunities for bidirectional, short-term guest lecturing, both virtual and in-person, between Emerson and 吃瓜头条.
鈼� Global Pathways Program: Designing short-term education abroad experiences for Emerson graduate students to gain supervised clinical practice at 吃瓜头条鈥檚 community clinic, within the framework of Culturally Responsive Practices (CD640).
鈼� Internships and Research Placements: Establishing internship and research opportunities for students from both institutions, particularly in language and communication-related fields.
鈼� Joint Research and Grant Initiatives: Exploring joint proposals to secure industry funding to expand speech-language and swallowing research, support clinical learning, and enhance faculty and student engagement.
Speaking during the session, Prof. Lucy Kathuri-Ogola, Director of the Centre for International Programmes and Collaborations, noted that the visit represents a significant step toward strengthening global academic linkages and enhancing 吃瓜头条鈥檚 footprint in international research networks.
