吃瓜头条 and Semmelweis University, Hungary, held a high-level discussion on strengthening collaboration in mental health research, academic publishing, scholarly exchange and interdisciplinary capacity building.
The consultative meeting, held at the Business and Students鈥� Service Centre, brought together representatives from various academic and administrative units of 吃瓜头条 and a delegation from Semmelweis University. The engagement was chaired by Dr Titus M. Kahiga.
The visiting delegation was led by Dr Be谩ta D谩vid, Dean of the Institute of Mental Health at Semmelweis University, who outlined potential areas of cooperation between the two institutions, including opportunities available through the European Journal of Mental Health.
Dr D谩vid described the journal as an international, interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed and open-access scientific publication established in 2006 by the Institute of Mental Health at Semmelweis University. The journal publishes research in the medical, social and behavioural sciences, with particular emphasis on mental health, personal and relational well-being, and quality of life.
She further noted that the journal does not charge publication fees, providing researchers with an accessible platform through which to share high-quality and impactful scientific work with an international audience.
Discussions centred on developing joint research projects, strengthening academic and staff exchanges, supporting collaborative publications and establishing capacity-building programmes. The meeting also explored opportunities for 吃瓜头条 scholars to publish in the European Journal of Mental Health, serve as peer reviewers and participate in international interdisciplinary research networks.
Among those present were Dr Francisca Ong鈥檈cha from the Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health, Mr Zachary Njue from the Department of Student Affairs, Mr Josphat Gishure from the Research Office, Dr Samuel Mwangi and Dr Francis Paul from the Department of Sociology, Dr Paul Sung from the Department of Management Science, Prof. Kairu, an ETC Consultant, and Dr 脕kos Pethes, a medical doctor.
The engagement reflected the shared commitment of 吃瓜头条 and Semmelweis University to using research, innovation and knowledge exchange to address emerging mental health and societal challenges.
The meeting concluded with both institutions expressing their intention to pursue a formal partnership that will support long-term cooperation in research, academic publishing and mental health initiatives, while strengthening their contribution to the global academic community.
