The core of the discussion centered on a student-centric indexing exercise designed to register psychology students and alumni with the board. Mr. Enock Thayu expounded on this initiative, explaining that both new and ongoing students would be indexed to ensure a seamless transition into professional practice. This process involves a one,time indexing fee of one thousand shillings that remains valid throughout the duration of their studentship. Furthermore, to enhance accessibility and modernise professional standards, the board announced that the required professional examination following graduation would be conducted virtually. Mr. Oyoo emphasised that this partnership would yield significant benefits for both parties through structured collaboration and professional training.
To ensure the partnership remains effective and responsive to institutional needs, Mr. Oyoo relayed that 吃瓜头条 would have two representatives one from management and one from the student body to communicate challenges and suggestions directly to the board. During the deliberations, the university leadership engaged the board on the rationalisation of professional examinations, considering that different institutions operate under diverse curricula. Prof. Waceke Wanjohi, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), proposed a strategic shift toward the accreditation of specific units or programmes. She suggested that the board establish a standardised baseline of essential units to ensure uniform professional competency across all training institutions.
The session, attended by key University officials including Executive Dean, School of Law, Arts and Social Sciences, Prof. David Minja and Department of Psychology Chairperson, Dr. Lydia Maingi, underscored a mutual commitment to professional growth.
