The newly introduced digital system will streamline the processes involved in developing, reviewing, and approving academic programmes, ensuring timely coordination among departments, schools, and relevant oversight bodies. The platform also strengthens institutional accountability by enabling better tracking and documentation throughout the programme lifecycle.
Speaking during the launch, Prof. John Okumu, Acting Vice-Chancellor noted that the system marks an important step in the University鈥檚 continued efforts to modernize academic processes and uphold high standards of teaching and learning. He emphasized that leveraging technology in academic programme management will support the University鈥檚 mission of delivering quality education that responds to emerging global and national needs.
The Director of ICT, Anthony Mbaabu, highlighted the importance of the system in improving operational efficiency and supporting data-driven decision-making. He explained that the platform will enable seamless tracking of programme proposals and reviews, reduce administrative delays, and enhance collaboration among academic and administrative units.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof Waceke Wanjohi,聽 also underscored the significance of the new advancement, noting that the system will play a key role in strengthening the University鈥檚 academic governance framework while ensuring that programmes remain relevant, competitive, and aligned with international standards.
The launch comes as 吃瓜头条 prepares to receive the first cohort of students under Kenya鈥檚 Competency-Based Education framework in 2029.
