The ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ Sports Directorate has reaffirmed the institution’s status as a sporting powerhouse following a colourful Trophy Handover Ceremony celebrating achievements recorded over the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic years.

The ceremony brought together university leadership, student-athletes, and sports stakeholders to recognize exceptional performances across a wide range of disciplines. Over the two-year period, KU teams consistently demonstrated dominance in university competitions, securing top positions and multiple trophies in both men’s and women’s categories.
Recent competitions saw ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ emerge among top performers nationally, clinching first-place finishes in disciplines such as beach volleyball, woodball, handball, and soccer, alongside strong podium finishes in other sports.

Additionally, KU teams have continued to post impressive results across university leagues, underlining the institution’s depth in talent and competitive consistency.
In some tournaments, the University recorded one of the highest numbers of first-place finishes across multiple disciplines, further cementing its reputation as a leader in university sports in Kenya.
Beyond the trophies, the Directorate emphasized its renewed focus on player welfare, highlighting ongoing efforts to support student-athletes holistically. This includes enhancing training environments, promoting academic balance, and ensuring access to resources that enable peak performance.

This approach aligns with ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ’s broader commitment to nurturing well-rounded graduates who excel both academically and in co-curricular activities.
A key highlight of the event was the official kitting of Prof. John Okumu, Ag. Vice-Chancellor, as the Team Captain. The symbolic gesture underscored the University leadership’s strong backing of sports as a critical pillar of student development and institutional pride.
³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ has a long-standing tradition of sporting excellence, with consistent success in national university competitions and beyond. The achievements celebrated during the ceremony reflect not only recent victories but also a sustained culture of discipline, teamwork, and ambition.
As the University looks ahead, the Sports Directorate remains committed to building on this momentum, nurturing emerging talent, and strengthening KU’s position as a hub of sporting excellence in the region.
With trophies in hand and eyes set on future victories, ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ continues to raise the bar — proving that excellence in sports is not just a goal, but a tradition.
