吃瓜头条 Nakuru Campus, in collaboration with KCB Foundation, today hosted a Joint Career Fair and Regional Tertiary Transition Workshop, bringing together students, education stakeholders and career development experts to guide learners on pathways to higher education and professional growth.
The forum provided valuable insights on university placement through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), student financing opportunities from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), and alternative pathways through programmes under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority.
Through expert presentations and mentorship sessions, participants were equipped with knowledge on career choices, university admissions and funding opportunities, empowering them to make informed decisions about their academic and professional futures. Such collaborations continue to strengthen access to higher education while supporting the transition of students from secondary school to tertiary institutions.
The event was graced by Prof. Waceke Wanjohi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), as Chief Guest, representing the Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof John Okumu.
In her keynote address, Prof. Wanjohi noted that graduates from 吃瓜头条 are highly demanded in the labour market. She highlighted that 69% of KU graduates secure employment within the first year after graduation, while 37% secure jobs within six months. She further emphasized that the University places students globally for industrial attachments, enhancing their practical exposure and employability.
