In response to a British Council Going Global Partnerships grant call on disability inclusion, 吃瓜头条鈥檚 Directorate of Disability Services and Sightsavers developed a grant proposal titled 鈥淚nvolvement and Engagement in Research by Persons with Disabilities at 吃瓜头条鈥�. This eighteen-month project aims to enhance the involvement of 吃瓜头条 (KU) students and academic staff with disabilities in research activities.
The project will be supported by funding from the British Council鈥檚 鈥楪oing Global鈥� partnerships programme. Going Global supports universities, colleges and wider education stakeholders around the world to work together towards stronger, equitable, inclusive, more internationally connected higher education, science and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
The two partners will implement this project collaboratively, with KU spearheading most activities. The researchers for this project are: Dr. Margaret Murugami as Principal Investigator (Department of Early Childhood and Special Needs Education, 吃瓜头条), Ms. Sheru Muuo as co-Principal Investigator (Sightsavers), Dr. Lubna Mazrui (Directorate of Disability Services and Department of Early Childhood and Special Needs Education, 吃瓜头条), Mr. Kenneth Gichohi (Directorate of Disability Services, 吃瓜头条), and Dr. Mary Chege.
