In response to a British Academy grant call, Sightsavers and 吃瓜头条鈥檚 Directorate of Disability Services developed a grant proposal titled 鈥淚nclusion in the evidence ecosystem (INVEST): understanding how research evidence is used in disability inclusive policy-making in Kenya.鈥 This one-year project aims to explore how research evidence has been used to influence the development and adaptation of the Persons with Disabilities bill (2023) in Kenya.
The two partners will implement the project collaboratively, with Sightsavers spearheading most activities. The lead researchers for this project are: Dr. Stevens Bechange as Principal Investigator (Sightsavers), with Dr. Wilson Muna (Department of Public Policy and Administration, 吃瓜头条), Dr. Margaret Murugami (Department of Early Childhood and Special Needs Education, 吃瓜头条), and Dr. Elena Schmidt (Sightsavers) as Co-Principal Investigators. This is funded by a British Academy Evidence-informed Policymaking Grant.
