1. DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN ANATOMY
1.1 LECTURER
Qualifications and experience
a) Be qualified medical doctors with an MBChB degree
b) Have Master’s qualifications in General Surgery, Orthopedics, or Radiology
c) Be registered with the Medical board (KMPDB)
d) Have experience in a teaching institution of at least five (5) years.
e) Master's and Ph.D. in Human Anatomy will be an added advantage.
2. DEPARTMENT OF CLINICAL RADIOLOGY AND IMAGING SERVICES
2.1 SENIOR LECTURER
Qualifications and experience
a) Has earned a PhD Degree in Medicine or Public Health or its equivalent from an accredited
University
b) Must have a Master's in Medicine Degree (MMed) in Diagnostic Radiology or equivalent
Master’s Degree from an accredited University.
c) At least three (3) years of University teaching experience as a Lecturer or research fellow
/ a minimum of six (6) years of industry experience in the relevant field
d) At least three (3) articles in refereed journals since being appointed as a Lecturer
e) Successful supervision of at least three (3) post-graduate students since being appointed as a Lecturer.
f) Registration by the KMPDC with a valid practicing license
g) An applicant who has attracted research or development funds or educational resources as a lecturer or research fellow since his or her last promotion will have an added advantage.
h) The applicant must also show evidence of community service.
i) The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students, undertake further research in his or her area of specialization, and participate in university, faculty, and departmental activities.
3. DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN PATHOLOGY
3.1 LECTURER
Qualifications and Experience
a) PhD Degree in any of the following fields from a recognized university. Holders of MMED
degree in these fields will also be considered:
• Clinical Pathology
• Anatomic Pathology
• General Pathology
b) Registered by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board and have a specialist recognition.
c) Have attained the professional level of consultant and have university teaching experience of
two (2) years and/or research experience.
4. DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACOGNOSY AND PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY
4.1 LECTURER (PHARMACOGNOSY)
Qualifications and Experience:
a) Master’s Degree or equivalent in Pharmacognosy or Complementary and Alternative Medicine. (A PhD in a relevant field is an added advantage).
b) Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree or equivalent.
c) Registered and with a current practice license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
d) At least two (2) years of academic or research experience at an institution of higher learning or research institution.
e) Current member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya
Duties & Responsibilities:
a. Delivering lectures and facilitating practical training for B.Pharm and postgraduate students
in Pharmacognosy and Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
b. Mentoring students and supervising research projects within the department.
c. Examining and assessing students’ academic progress as per university policy
d. Developing and reviewing curriculum to align with University, Commission of University
Education, and Pharmacy and Poisons Board standards.
e. Engaging in continuous research and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals.
f. Coordinating academic programs and departmental operations as assigned by the Chairman.
4.2 LECTURER (PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY)
Qualifications and Experience:
a) Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or Analytical Chemistry.
A PhD in a relevant field is an added advantage.
b) Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree or equivalent.
c) Registered and with a current practice license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
d) At least two (2) years of academic or research experience at an institution of higher learning
or research institution.
e) Current member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya
Duties & Responsibilities:

Qualification and Experience
a) Diploma or equivalent from a recognized institution in Pharmacognosy, Phytochemistry,
Ethnobotany, Plant Taxonomy, Biotechnology, or Applied Biology.
b) Demonstrated Understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and quality control
principles
c) Demonstrated experience with the extraction, identification, and basic analysis of
phytochemicals
d) Computer literacy
Duties & Responsibilities:
a. Prepare and standardize botanical specimens for teaching and research
b. Execute phytochemical extraction procedures and preliminary phytochemical screening
c. Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance of laboratory instruments and
equipment
d. Assist in organizing and conducting practical sessions
e. Manage laboratory inventory
f. Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practice
g. Support faculty in conducting research
4.4 TECHNICIAN GRADE A/B (PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY SECTION)
Qualifications and Experience
a) Diploma or equivalent from a recognized institution in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Medicinal
Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Applied Chemistry
b) Demonstrated Understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and quality control
principles
c) Demonstrated experience with analytical instrumentation
d) Computer literacy
Duties & Responsibilities:
a. Prepare, standardize, and validate chemical solutions to pharmacopoeial standards
b. Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment
c. Assist in organizing and conducting practical sessions
d. Manage laboratory inventory
e. Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practice
f. Assist in method development and validation
g. Support faculty in conducting research
4.5 CURATOR/MEDICINAL GARDEN HORTICULTURALIST GRADE C/D
Qualifications and Experience
a) University degree or equivalent in Taxonomy, botany or plant sciences
b) Demonstrable Knowledge of Kenyan biodiversity and indigenous medicinal plants
c) Demonstrated Proficiency in herbarium preservation techniques and database management
d) Demonstrated experience in medicinal plant propagation and processing
e) Computer literacy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
a. Managing and maintaining the university's medicinal garden.
b. Propagate and maintain living collections of medicinal plants in the medicinal garden
c. Assisting in the identification and classification of medicinal plants for research purposes.
d. Train and supervise students and technicians in herbarium practices, specimen curation and
propagation, and processing of medicinal plants
e. Facilitate departmental research by preparing specimens and providing taxonomic
identifications
f. Conduct field expeditions to collect medicinal plant vouchers
g. Curating the departmental herbarium, including the collection and preservation of plant
specimens.
5. DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY MEDICINE COMMUNITY HEALTH AND
EPIDEMIOLOGY
5.1 LECTURER
Applicants should have at least any of the following qualifications;
Either
a. A combination of-
ï‚· PhD in Public Health
ï‚· Master of Public Health or its equivalent
Or
b. A combination of;-
ï‚· Master of Public Health or its equivalent
ï‚· Bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery (MBCHB), Bachelor of Dental Surgery, or
BPharm
Experience
c. Must have at least two (2) years of experience in training professionals or teaching in an
institution of higher learning
d. Having at least one (1) year of experience working in a program involved with Monitoring,
Evaluation, Epidemiology, and Disease control and Biostatistics-
o Malaria treatment, prevention, and Control.
o HIV/AIDS/TB
o Maternal Health, Child Health, and Nutritional Programs
e. Must be registered and licensed by the relevant professional/Regulatory Body
6. DEPARTMENT OF FOOD, NUTRITION, AND DIETETICS
6.1 LECTURER
a) PhD Holder in Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics from an accredited and recognized university
b) At least 3 years of teaching experience at an institution of higher learning
c) Published at least 2 articles in refereed journals
d) Be registered with the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI)
6.2 TUTORIAL FELLOW
a) Have a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree qualification in Food, Nutrition, and
Dietetics from an accredited and recognized university.
b) Be registered for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics.
c) At least 2 years of teaching experience at institutions of higher learning
d) Be registered with the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI)
7. DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY, GENDER, AND DEVELOPMENT STUDIES
7.1 TUTORIAL FELLOW
Reporting to the Chairperson, the job holder will support the Department by performing the
following tasks:
a. Teaching both Diploma and undergraduate students
b. Setting, marking, and processing results for units offered to diploma and undergraduate students.
c. Supervising and marking research projects for diploma programmes.
d. Supporting departmental work, such as working with senior colleagues and professors in research projects.
e. Supporting the departmental examination coordinators in the smooth running of the examination offices.
f. Any other work that will help the department achieve its strategic objectives by serving on the Departmental committee.
g. Any other work that may be assigned by the Head of the department.
Qualification and Experience:
a) Master’s Degree in Sociology and/or Gender and Development Studies from a recognized institution.
b) Teaching experience at the university level will be an added advantage.
c) Applicants must be prepared to pursue a Ph.D. in Sociology and/or Gender and Development Studies.
d) Registered or willing to pursue a PhD Degree in Sociology or Gender and Development Studies will be an added advantage

8. DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY
8.1 LECTURER
Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Teaching and evaluation of undergraduate and postgraduate students
b. Setting, moderating, administering, processing, and marking examinations.
c. Academic advising and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students.
d. Development of teaching and learning materials.
e. Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students in research activities.
f. Undertaking research and Community outreach
g. Participate in meetings and conferences related to research and building inter-disciplinary
collaboration within and outside the department.
h. Participating in the preparation of the Department and Faculty strategic plans.
i. Organizing and supervising educational activities for undergraduate and postgraduate
students.
j. Attending and participating in seminars, workshops, conferences, etc., in relevant fields.
k. Participating in administrative, academic, and consultancy activities in the Department and
other organizations.
l. Participating in planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula in the
Department.
m. Attending and participating in the Departmental meeting and other activities for effective
and efficient management of the Department and Faculty.
n. Undertaking administrative duties and other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to
time.
Qualifications and Experience:
a) An earned PhD degree in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a
closely related field from an accredited and recognized university.
b) Must be registered by the Kenya Counselling and Psychologists Board
c) At least three (3) years of university teaching or research/industry experience
d) At least two (2) articles in a refereed Journal.
e) Proven ability to conduct research and supervise postgraduate students (Master's and/or
PhD levels).
f) Experience in curriculum development, online teaching, and pedagogical skills.
g) Strong verbal and written communication skills.
8.2 TUTORIAL FELLOW
Duties and Responsibilities
a. To teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department.
b. Designing, developing, planning, and delivering a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.
c. Reviewing course content and materials regularly, updating when required.
d. Collaborating with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes, and the development of research activities.
e. Carrying out research and writing research grant proposals.
f. Seeking and participating in consultancies.
g. Presenting research papers at national or international conferences and other similar events.
h. Dissemination of research outputs.
i. Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.
j. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisors or as captured in your detailed job description
Qualifications and Experience:
a) Master’s in Psychology/Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field
from an accredited and recognized university.
b) Must be registered by the Kenya Counselling and Psychologists Board
c) Teaching experience at the university level will be an added advantage.
d) Applicant must be prepared to pursue a PhD in the specified area of specialization.
e) Registration of a PhD degree will be an added advantage.
f) At least three (3) years of post-qualification work experience.
9. DEPARTMENT OF EARLY CHILDHOOD &Â SPECIAL NEEDS EDUCATION
9.1 LECTURER IN SPECIAL NEEDS EDUCATION

Qualifications and Experience:
a) Successful applicants must have a PhD (Special Needs Education), a Master’s Degree
(Special Needs Education), and a Bachelor of Education (Special Needs Education), all in the
respective areas of specialization.
b) Having a Certificate in Kenyan Sign language and a Certificate in Audiology will be an added
advantage for the Hearing Impairment area of specialization.
c) For the Visual Impairment area of specialization, applicants must be proficient in Braille.
d) At least three years of teaching experience at a university or institution of higher learning
e) Should have published at least two (2) articles in a peer-reviewed journal.
10. TEACHING PROGRAMMES AND PUBLICATION SECTION
10.1 PUBLICÂ ADDRESS (PA)Â TECHNICIAN GRADE A/B
Job Purpose
The Public Address Technician will be responsible for the installation, operation, and
maintenance of public address systems and projectors to support teaching, conferences, official
ceremonies, meetings, and other University events.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
a) Install, operate, and manage public address and sound systems in lecture halls, conference
rooms, and other University venues.
b) Set up and operate microphones, mixers, amplifiers, speakers, and related audio equipment
during lectures, meetings, seminars, and official University functions.
c) Provide technical support for audiovisual equipment, including projectors, conferencing
systems, and hybrid meeting technologies.
d) Conduct routine inspection, servicing, and maintenance of public address and audio
equipment.
e) Troubleshoot and resolve faults in audio systems and related equipment.
f) Liaise with departments and event organizers to facilitate sound and audiovisual
requirements during University events.
g) Maintain an inventory of public address and audio equipment and ensure proper storage and
handling.
h) Ensure safe installation and operation of sound and audio-visual systems in accordance with
University safety standards.
i) Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
a. Diploma in Electronic Engineering, Information Technology/ICT, or a related field from a
recognized institution.
b. A Certificate in Sound Engineering will be an added advantage.
c. At least two (2) years’ relevant experience in the operation and maintenance of public
address or audio-visual systems.
d. Demonstrated knowledge of sound systems, microphones, mixers, amplifiers, and audio-
visual equipment.
e. Good technical troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
f. Ability to work under pressure and provide support during University events when required.

A competitive remuneration package, which includes basic salary, house allowance, and
medical cover as per the University Scheme, will be provided.
Tutorial Fellows are employed on one (1) year renewable contract up to a maximum of
three (3)Â years.
