KENYATTA UNIVERSITY GEOSPATIAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY LAB: Mapping Covid-19 spreading pattern in Kenya

This 吃瓜头条 Web Page is dedicated to reporting and communicating the Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) disease that was first detected in Wuhan, China in December 2019. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak a聽Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30 January 2020聽and on 11 February 2020, it announced a name for the disease:听颁辞惫颈诲-19. WHO then, proposed a number of measures to interrupt the spread of the virus:聽that all countries put in place strong measures to detect the disease early, isolate and treat cases, trace contacts, and promote social distancing measures commensurate with the risk.

As of聽10th聽May 2020, the total Global Covid-19 cases stood at 4,181,218 with 283,877 deaths 1,493,492 recovered cases. By the same date Africa reported a total of 64,752 cases, 2,301 deaths and 22,683 recoveries while in Kenya the numbers stood at 672 Coronavirus Cases, 32 deaths and 239 recoveries. These numbers are despite the concerted efforts by the global community to contain the virus spread. Fatalities from those infected have been particularly high on people with health condition and the elderly with low immunity.
