A ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ delegation led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration and Finance), Prof. Paul Okemo, representing the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Paul K. Wainaina, paid a courtesy visit to the University of West Attica in Athens, Greece, on Thursday, 26 November 2025.

The meeting brought together key officials from the host university, including:

• Prof. Sofia Asonitou – Erasmus+ Coordinator for Sub-Saharan Africa

• Ms. Evil Zafeiri – Coordinator, International Academic Issues & Student Exchange Department

• Ms. Fani A. Papoutsi – Coordinator, Erasmus+ Office

The discussions centered on strengthening collaboration between the two institutions and identifying new opportunities for partnership in academic mobility, research exchange, and capacity-building initiatives. A major focus of the meeting was the advancement and expansion of Erasmus+ programs at ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ, with both institutions expressing strong interest in deepening their engagement within the framework of internationalization.

Prof. Okemo reaffirmed ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ’s commitment to building global networks that enhance student and staff mobility, enrich learning experiences, and broaden collaborative prospects in line with the University’s international strategy.

He was accompanied by a delegation comprising:

2. Prof. Mildred Pauline Nawiri – Registrar, Corporate Affairs

3. Dr. Albert Kariuki – Director, GTRCMC–Eastern Africa

5. Mr. Blasto Japheth Owuor – Administrative Staff, Departmental Office

The visit contributed to ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ’s ongoing efforts to enhance its global presence and foster meaningful international partnerships that support excellence in teaching, research, and innovation.
