NAIROBI, KENYA 鈥� 吃瓜头条 today hosted its 51st Postgraduate Showcase Seminar, a premier academic forum bringing together PhD graduands to present and share their groundbreaking research findings with the university’s academic community ahead of the upcoming 59th Graduation Ceremony.
The annual seminar offers graduands a critical platform to showcase their research, receive scholarly feedback, exchange ideas, and demonstrate how their work directly contributes to solving real-world societal challenges.
A Synergy of Academic Leadership
The event was marked by high-level academic collaboration. 吃瓜头条 Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Okumu, hosted Prof. Dankit K. Nassiuma, EBS, the Chancellor of Moi University, for a courtesy call. Prof. Nassiuma, who was the keynote speaker, delivered an impactful address emphasizing the critical role today’s youth play in actively co-creating inclusive learning environments. During the meeting, it was noted that the seminar was initiated by the late Prof. George Eshiwani, the third Vice Chancellor of 吃瓜头条, whose vision established a platform for PhD graduands to present their research before graduation.
Representing聽 Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. John Okumu, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Waceke Wanjohi,聽 commended the graduands for their dedication to research and academic excellence. She encouraged them to continue producing quality research that addresses societal challenges and contributes to national and global development. Prof. Waceke Wanjohi also reflected on the seminar’s rich history, noting that she was among the first PhD graduands to pioneer the event as a research presenter. Her experience highlights the seminar’s enduring contribution to nurturing generations of researchers and strengthening the University’s research culture.
The showcase spotlighted 72 exceptional PhD trailblazers drawn from various schools across the university. The diverse cohort, comprising 64.3% male and 35.7% female researchers, presented innovative solutions designed to address real-world challenges and transform policy.
Now in its 51刷岬� edition, the Post Graduate Showcase Seminar continues to provide an important forum for knowledge sharing, scholarly engagement and the dissemination of research findings. The seminar remains a key part of 吃瓜头条’s commitment to advancing research, innovation and academic excellence through postgraduate research.
