DIRECTORATE OF UNIVERSITY SECURITY SERVICES

Director, University Security Services – Grade 14

Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration & Finance) the Director, Security Services will be in-charge of security and safeguarding University properties:

Main duties and responsibilities:

  1. Enforcement of University rules, regulations and procedures
  2. Collection of intelligence
  3. Safeguarding University property
  4. Co-ordination of all Security operations
  5. To be proactive and sensitive to security issues
  6. Advising the University Management on security matters
  7. Reviewing the security arrangements
  8. Training of personnel on security awareness
  9. Capacity to create a harmonious working relationship with all the teams; internal, external/private and seconded
  10. Able to strengthen the working relationship with the National Security System

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in a Security related field from a recognized University
  2. Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
  3. KCE Division II/ KCSE mean grade C+ and above
  4. Served in the Discipline Forces and attained the rank of Senior Superintended of Police and above
  5. Over fifteen (15) years’ work experience
  6. Knowledge of Fire/Disaster Management and first aid
  7. Knowledge of Intelligence collection/ investigations
  8. Police Clearance certificate
  9. Computer literate
  10. Clean discharge certificate if applicableÌý

  9. Must pass the integrity test as required by Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya.

DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY AND RELIGIOUS STUDIES

Lecturer

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  1. An earned PhD degree in Philosophy from a recognized institution.
  2. Master’s degree in Philosophy from a recognized University
  3. At least three (3) years University teaching or research / industry experience
  4. At least two (2) articles in refereed journals
  5. Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops

Tutorial Fellow

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Master’s Degree in Philosophy from a recognized institution.
  2. Teaching experience at University level will be an added advantage.
  3. Applicants must be prepared to pursue PhD in the specified areas of specialization.
  4. Registration for PhD Degree will be an added advantage

The terms of service include a generous medical scheme, house allowance and commuting allowance.
