    • LECTURER (MARKETING) – MAIN CAMPUS

Qualifications

  1. PhD in Marketing from an accredited university. The doctorate MUST be in Marketing (not a general Business Administration or Management PhD).
  2. Master’s degree (MBA or MSc) in a business-related area, preferably with a Marketing specialisation/option, from an accredited university.
  3. Bachelor’s degree in a business-related area, preferably in Marketing, from an accredited university.
  4. Consistent progression in the three degrees (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD) as per the Commission for University Education (CUE) guidelines.

Teaching Experience

  1. Demonstrable university-level teaching experience in Marketing courses at undergraduate and, preferably, postgraduate level.
  2. Evidence of curriculum development and examination work in Marketing.
  3. Experience in supervising postgraduate students’ research projects and theses will be an added advantage.

Research and Publications

  1. Demonstrable research experience in Marketing or a closely related business area.

A competitive remuneration package, which includes basic salary, house allowance, and medical cover as per the University Scheme, will be provided.

Tutorial Fellows are employed on one (1) year renewable contract up to a maximum of three (3)Ìýyears.

Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, the Chief Legal officer will be in charge of the University Legal department:

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Management of activities carried out by the University legal function.
    Provide legal counsel to University Management Board and Council.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Conduct Internal Audit engagements in accordance with laid down regulations and guidelines.
  2. Participate in design and implement comprehensive annual audit programs encompassing information systems reviews.
  3. Assess the robustness of controls within IT environments—including cybersecurity measures, data-protection protocols, and change-management processes.
  4. Oversee the audit schedule to ensure assignments are completed on time and in accordance with plan.
  5. Conduct risk-based audit engagements, identify control deficiencies, and propose actionable enhancements.
  6. Verify compliance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, internal policies, and professional auditing standards.
  7. Draft and present clear, concise audit reports highlighting findings, recommendations, and remediation plans to management and key stakeholders

Knowledge, Experience and qualifications required

Duties and Responsibilities
a. To teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department.
b. Designing, developing, planning, and delivering a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.
c. Reviewing course content and materials regularly, updating when required.
d. Collaborating with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes, and the development of research activities.
e. Carrying out research and writing research grant proposals.
f. Seeking and participating in consultancies.
g. Presenting research papers at national or international conferences and other similar events.
h. Dissemination of research outputs.
i. Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.
j. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisors or as captured in your detailed job description

Qualifications and Experience:
a) Master’s in Psychology/Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field
from an accredited and recognized university.
b) Must be registered by the Kenya Counselling and Psychologists Board
c) Teaching experience at the university level will be an added advantage.
d) Applicant must be prepared to pursue a PhD in the specified area of specialization.
e) Registration of a PhD degree will be an added advantage.
f) At least three (3) years of post-qualification work experience.

Qualifications and Experience:
a) Successful applicants must have a PhD (Special Needs Education), a Master’s Degree
(Special Needs Education), and a Bachelor of Education (Special Needs Education), all in the
respective areas of specialization.
b) Having a Certificate in Kenyan Sign language and a Certificate in Audiology will be an added
advantage for the Hearing Impairment area of specialization.
c) For the Visual Impairment area of specialization, applicants must be proficient in Braille.
d) At least three years of teaching experience at a university or institution of higher learning
e) Should have published at least two (2) articles in a peer-reviewed journal.

10. TEACHING PROGRAMMES AND PUBLICATION SECTION
10.1 PUBLICÌýADDRESS (PA)ÌýTECHNICIAN GRADE A/B
Job Purpose
The Public Address Technician will be responsible for the installation, operation, and
maintenance of public address systems and projectors to support teaching, conferences, official
ceremonies, meetings, and other University events.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
a) Install, operate, and manage public address and sound systems in lecture halls, conference
rooms, and other University venues.
b) Set up and operate microphones, mixers, amplifiers, speakers, and related audio equipment
during lectures, meetings, seminars, and official University functions.
c) Provide technical support for audiovisual equipment, including projectors, conferencing
systems, and hybrid meeting technologies.
d) Conduct routine inspection, servicing, and maintenance of public address and audio
equipment.
e) Troubleshoot and resolve faults in audio systems and related equipment.
f) Liaise with departments and event organizers to facilitate sound and audiovisual
requirements during University events.
g) Maintain an inventory of public address and audio equipment and ensure proper storage and
handling.
h) Ensure safe installation and operation of sound and audio-visual systems in accordance with
University safety standards.
i) Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
a. Diploma in Electronic Engineering, Information Technology/ICT, or a related field from a
recognized institution.
b. A Certificate in Sound Engineering will be an added advantage.
c. At least two (2) years’ relevant experience in the operation and maintenance of public
address or audio-visual systems.
d. Demonstrated knowledge of sound systems, microphones, mixers, amplifiers, and audio-
visual equipment.
e. Good technical troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
f. Ability to work under pressure and provide support during University events when required.

Tutorial Fellows are employed on one (1) year renewable contract up to a maximum of

Duties and responsibilities of a Store Keeper will entail: –

a. Maintain accurate, up-to-date, computerized records of stock levels, receipts and withdrawals of laboratory items,
b. Perform regular physical inventory audits and cycle counts to reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and digital records.

Qualifications and Experience
a. Applicants must have at least KCSE C (plain) and above or equivalent
b. Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology (Chemistry/Biology/Physics) from a registered and recognized Institution

d. Good Communication Skills in English and Kiswahili

INTERNAL AUDIT DEPARTMENT

1. CHIEF INTERNAL AUDITOR – GRADE 15

Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, the Chief Internal Auditor will work together with the University Management and the University Council Audit Committee to provide internal process control and risk management.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee the development, implementation, and review of internal audit policies, strategies, procedures, and plans in accordance with University Internal Audit Functions.
• Providing lead in the review of budgetary performance, financial management, transparency, and accountability mechanisms and processes in the University.
• Providing assurance on the state of risk management, control, and governance within the University.
• Ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, statutory, and regulatory requirements in the University.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls on financial and non-financial performance management systems within the University.
• Overseeing the review of the effectiveness of the University’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
• Liaising with the Office of the Auditor General to ensure the implementation of internal and external audit recommendations.
• Providing secretariat services to the audit and risk committee of the Council.
• Facilitating internal audit client’s customer satisfaction survey.
• Providing lead in the design and implementation of Quality Assurance and Improvement Programme (QAIP).
• Facilitating benchmarks on best practices and researching emerging issues in internal audit.
• Spearheading the development and implementation of the division’s strategic plans, budgets, performance contracts, and staff performance appraisal.

3. CPA (K), ACCA, Certified Internal Auditor, or the equivalent qualification.
4. At least five years of working experience as a Senior Finance Manager in a reputable organization.

Reporting to the Chief Internal Auditor, the Risk Manager will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, assessing, and designing control and mitigation activities for the risks within the University.

Key Responsibilities
a. Lead the development and implementation of a university-wide risk management framework.
b. Maintain a centralized live risk register covering strategic, operational, financial, regulatory, supply chain, environmental, and reputational risks.
c. Facilitate risk assessments across all University Operations.
d. Provide risk insights to University Management to support strategic decision-making.
e. Present risk dashboards and mitigation plans to the Chief Internal Auditor.
f. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
g. Oversee adherence to different University Programmes certification/accreditation requirements.
h. Monitor changes in legislation and emerging risks affecting the higher education sector and make a report to the Chief Internal Auditor.
i. Oversee risk controls within all University operations.
j. Oversee the development and/or review of whistleblowing and ethics frameworks.
k. Oversee incident reporting, root-cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
l. Ensure proper segregation of duties across key University functions.
m. Develop, test, and monitor the University’s Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and disaster recovery arrangements.
n. Act as the Risk Management Committee’s secretary, prepare reports on strategic risks for management and the council, and ensure compliance with governance and reporting requirements.
o. Any other duty as may be assigned by the Chief Internal Auditor.

Qualifications and Experience
a) Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field.
b) Master’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or its equivalent.
c) Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), or any other international risk certification.
d) Ten (10) years of relevant experience, with at least three (3) years at a managerial level.

d. Have at least three (3) years of relevant working experience in a busy Teaching, Research, or Quality Control Laboratory.
e. Experience in operating analytical equipment such as LC-MS/MS, GC/MS, FTIR, UV-VIS, HPTLC, and XRF will be a desirable advantage.
f. Be computer literate.

While reporting to the Director, NPRC, the successful candidate will be expected to:
a) Oversee the day-to-day running of the QA laboratories.
b) Prepare and review standard operating procedures, documents, and records as prescribed by ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

g) Perform data analysis and interpretation of analytical results and ensure the correctness of the results.
h) Ensure both periodic and routine inspection of laboratory instruments and documentation of certificates from external calibrations.
i) Ensure proper documentation of Certificate of Analysis and Materials Safety Data Sheets for chemicals, reagents, and products.
j) Assist local and international students and researchers in conducting research.

5. TECHNICIAN – QUALITY ASSURANCE SECTION (GRADE C/D)
Qualifications and Experience
a. BSc. Degree from a registered and recognized University in any of the following areas of specialization: Analytical Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry.

Qualifications and Experience

a. BSc. Degree from a Registered and recognized University in any of the following areas of specialization: Botany, Applied Biology, or Plant Sciences.
b. KSCE mean Grade C+ (plus) or equivalent and above.
c. Have relevant working experience in a busy Teaching, Research, or Quality Control Laboratory.
d. Those with experience in a herbarium will have an added advantage.
e. Be computer literate.

While reporting to the Director, NPRC, the successful candidate will be expected to:

a) Maintain current Good Laboratory Practices.
b) Prepare and review standard operating procedures.
c) Identify medicinal plants and herbal materials in the field.
d) Collect, harvest, and transport medicinal plant materials to NPRC.
e) Participate in primary and secondary processing of herbal materials.
f) Use microscopic and macroscopic techniques to identify herbal materials and adulterants in the laboratory.
g) Calibrate and maintain assigned laboratory equipment.
h) Create a herbarium of medicinal plants at the NPRC.
i) Participate in quality improvement programs to ensure that the laboratory testing is accurate and timely.

7. TECHNICIAN – FOOD & SAFETY SECTION (GRADE C/D)

Qualifications and Experience

a. BSc. Degree from a recognized University in any of the following areas of specialization: Food Science and Technology, or Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics.
b. KSCE mean Grade C+ (plus) or equivalent and above.
c. Have relevant working experience in a busy Teaching, Research, or food processing company or related companies.
d. Be computer literate.

While reporting to the Director, NPRC, the successful candidate will be expected to:
a) Maintain current Good Manufacturing Practices.
b) Prepare and review standard operating procedures.
c) Identify and source quality raw herbal materials.
d) Engage farmers for contractual production of medicinal plants.
e) Make daily observations of processing activities at the Upscaling section.
f) Identify and source proper packaging and labeling materials for each product.
g) Oversee the inspection of outgoing finished goods as well as incoming raw materials.
h) Ensure proper sampling of raw materials and finished products for quality assessment in the microbiology and quality assurance laboratories.
i) Ensure that quality products meet customer needs.
j) Prepare and maintain quality and production records.
k) Ensure accurate stock records.

8. TECHNICIAN – FOOD & SAFETY SECTION (GRADE III/IV)
Qualifications and Experience
a. Diploma from a registered and recognized Institution in any of the following areas of specialization: Food Science and Technology; Food, Nutrition and Dietetics; or Environmental Health.
b. KSCE mean Grade C (plain) or equivalent and above.
c. Have relevant working experience in food and beverage production.
d. Experience in operating nutraceutical processing equipment will be an added advantage.
e. Be computer literate.

While reporting to the Director, NPRC, the successful candidate will be expected to:
a) Maintain current Good Manufacturing Practices.
b) Report to the Director NPRC or his/her appointee.
c) Maintain the set standard operating procedures for cleaning the processing area, packaging area, herbal materials, and processing equipment.
d) Keep an inventory of all housekeeping supplies and check it regularly.
e) Maintain the set standard operating procedures for handling of herbal materials, from processing to packaging.
f) Participate in primary and secondary processing of herbal materials.

9. MACHINE OPERATOR (GRADE III/IV)

Qualifications and Experience
a. Certificate from a registered and recognized institution in any of the following areas of specialization: Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Production Engineering.
b. KSCE mean Grade D- (minus) or equivalent and above.
c. Have relevant working experience in a Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Production Engineering firm.
d. Experience in operating nutraceutical processing equipment, distillers, and fixed oil expellers will be an added advantage.
e. Be computer literate

While reporting to the Director, NPRC, the successful candidate will be expected to:

10. ENDOWMENT OFFICER GRADE 11
Key Roles and Responsibilities

The Endowment Officer, under the guidance of the Director, shall be responsible for:
a. Establishing the Endowment Office structures, including systems, processes, and operational frameworks.
b. Developing and implementing endowment-related policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures in alignment with University statutes and governance structures.
c. Providing financial and technical support in the formulation and execution of endowment fundraising and resource mobilization strategies.
d. Coordinating endowment financial planning, budgeting, investment tracking, and reporting.
e. Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, audit requirements, and risk management standards applicable to endowment funds.
f. Maintaining accurate financial records of endowment contributions, investments, and fund performance.
g. Preparing periodic performance, compliance, and impact reports for University Management and the Board.

Qualifications and Experience

The position requires a finance-oriented professional with the following qualifications:
a) A minimum of a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business
Administration, or a related field.
b) A relevant professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent.
c) At least five (5) years of working experience in fundraising, development work, partnerships, or resource mobilization.
d) Strong analytical, financial reporting, and policy implementation skills.

11. DEVELOPMENT OFFICER GRADE 11

Key Responsibilities

The officer will work under the guidance of the Director to:
a. Develop and implement fundraising strategies and annual development plans
b. Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with donors, sponsors, alumni, and partners
c. Prepare funding proposals, grant applications, and donor reports.
d. Coordinate fundraising events, campaigns, and alumni engagement initiatives
e. Maintain accurate donor records and databases.
f. Coordinate the legal registration, statutory compliance, and regulatory filings of the
g. Foundation, working with the legal office and relevant authorities as required
h. Support communication and marketing efforts related to fundraising activities
i. Monitor fundraising performance and prepare periodic reports
j. Perform any other duties as assigned in support of the Foundation

Qualifications and Experience
a) Master’s Degree in Social Sciences from a recognized institution of higher learning.
b) At least five (5) years of working experience in fundraising, development work, partnerships, or resource mobilization.

e) High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
f) Proficiency in MS Office.

KENYATTA UNIVERSITY FUNERAL HOME

12. REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN GRADE A/B

Duties and responsibilities
a. Maintaining, installing, and servicing refrigeration cold rooms
b. Troubleshooting and overhauling ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
c. Monitor body refrigerators’ temperature every morning for corrective action to avoid decomposition of bodies.
d. Repair body refrigerators in case of breakdown.
e. Repair and service of the air conditioning at the Funeral Home.
f. Ensure all the extract and Suction Fans are working.
g. Lubrication of dressing tables and hydraulic lifter machines.
h. Assist in the repair of the hydraulic system at the Funeral Home.
Qualifications and Experience
a) Diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or any related field from a recognized institution.
b) A mean grade of C (Plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E) or its equivalent.
c) Proficiency in computer applications.
d) At least two years of experience in handling body fridges in a Funeral Home.
