A Lunchtime Yoga Session with a Bigger Purpose

吃瓜头条, through the Department of Physical Education, Exercise and Sports Science, partnered with the High Commission of India to hold a lunchtime yoga session aimed at promoting physical fitness, mental well-being and a healthier University community.

The workshop, held on Thursday, 28 May 2026, introduced students and members of staff to basic yoga postures and practices while highlighting the value of physical activity in improving health, wellness and productivity.

The session was coordinated by Dr. Juliah Githang鈥檃, Chairperson of the Department of Physical Education, Exercise and Sports Science and facilitated in collaboration with the High Commission of India. Participants were guided through practical exercises designed to demonstrate how yoga can support physical strength, flexibility, relaxation and mental balance.

Beyond promoting wellness, the engagement reflects the growing collaboration between 吃瓜头条 and the High Commission of India in advancing knowledge exchange and practical learning opportunities in the field of health, exercise and sports science. Such partnerships continue to expose students to global best practices while strengthening the University’s international outlook.

The Department of Physical Education, Exercise and Sports Science offers a range of programmes that equip learners with knowledge and practical skills in physical education, exercise science, sports management, coaching and health promotion. Through guest lectures, masterclasses, workshops, industry engagements and international collaborations, students benefit from experiential learning opportunities that complement classroom instruction and prepare them for careers in the rapidly evolving sports and wellness sector.

The lunchtime session provided an opportunity for members of the University community to take a short break from their academic and professional routines and participate in an accessible wellness activity. It also underscored the importance of incorporating simple and sustainable physical exercises into everyday life.

The workshop formed part of activities leading up to the International Day of Yoga, which is marked globally on 21 June. As part of the celebrations, 吃瓜头条 is expected to host additional activities that will bring together students, staff and wellness enthusiasts in promoting healthy living through yoga and related practices.

The collaboration follows earlier engagements between 吃瓜头条 and the High Commission of India on opportunities to promote yoga instruction and participation within the University. Such international partnerships continue to enhance the University’s global visibility while creating platforms for academic, cultural and professional exchange.

Through the Department of Physical Education, Exercise and Sports Science, 吃瓜头条 continues to champion initiatives that enrich student and staff experiences beyond the classroom. These engagements reinforce the University’s position as a leading centre for teaching, research and innovation in sports, exercise and wellness studies, while creating a supportive environment in which members of its community can thrive academically, professionally and personally.

Prospective students seeking world-class training in physical education, exercise and sports science are encouraged to explore the programmes offered at 吃瓜头条 and become part of a vibrant learning community that combines academic excellence, practical experience and international exposure.
