Kenya鈥檚 top-ranked University, has once again proven its commitment to academic and artistic excellence by winning the Best Learning Institution (University) award at the 4 th Kenya Theatre Awards held on 20 th February, 2025, at the Kenya National Theatre. This prestigious recognition highlights KU鈥檚 dedication to nurturing creative talent, solidifying its position as a leader in theatre education in Kenya.

The award was received by Prof. James Kung鈥檜, Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) representing the Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Waceke Wanjohi. Also in attendance were, Prof. Grace Bunyi, Ag. Registrar Corporate Affairs, Dr. Kiilu Tommy, Chairman of the Department of Communication, Film, Media & Theatre Studies, and Dr. Duncan Wambugu, Chairman of the Music and Dance Department. Speaking at the event, Prof. Kung鈥檜 expressed immense pride in the university鈥檚 efforts, stating, "This recognition underscores our commitment to nurturing creativity and advancing theatre studies in Kenya.
