In an effort to enhance the achievement of 吃瓜头条鈥檚 research, innovation and outreach mandate, the University recently launched the Vice-Chancellor鈥檚 Research and Innovation Grant. The objectives of the grant are to among others strengthen the research and innovation culture in the University as well as contribute to national development and attainment of Kenya Vision 2030 and the Big Four Agenda.
This is therefore to call for proposals for the 2019/2020 Vice-Chancellor鈥檚 Research and Innovation Grant from both full time teaching and technical staff of 吃瓜头条. Kindly note that proposals on innovation must necessarily lead to the development of prototypes/products and/or processes.
Areas of Focus for the 2019/2020 call are:
- Food and Nutrition Security
- Health and well-being
- Safety, Security and Peace
- Affordable Housing
- Manufacturing, Material Science, Value addition
- Entrepreneurship and poverty eradication
- Quality Education and training

Grant Ceiling
The maximum amount of grant funding for interdisciplinary/interschool research projects shall be Ksh. 2,000,000 per proposal. The grant shall be awarded for a maximum of 3 years subject to availability of resources and submission of satisfactory technical and financial reports. Proposals submitted by individual researchers shall receive a maximum of upto Ksh. 1,000,000 per proposal and the grant shall be awarded for a maximum of 1 year subject to availability of funds and submission of satisfactory technical and financial reports.

Proposals should be submitted in the official application form available online at聽聽by Friday, 28th February 2020 at 5.00 p.m. Late submissions will not be accepted.
