³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ invites applications from staff who are suitably qualified with outstanding academic/professional qualifications and relevant experience for the following positions:

  1. HEAD ICT CUSTOMER SUPPORT GRADE 11

This position exists to provide quality ICT service delivery to customers of the same in the university through management of ICT quality mechanisms and staff involved in provision of ICT services so as to maintain customer satisfaction and achievement of the directorate’s goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, review and implement customer service policies and procedures for the section on a periodic and regular basis so as to guide in delivering excellent customer service.
  2. Develop the section’s annual work plan to guide in the timely execution of tasks and projects by staff members within the section
  3. Manage the staff roster for the section by preparing periodic staff schedules as per their skills so as to ensure proper allocation of staff to the various roles for effective service delivery.
  4. Supervise support staff on a regular basis in order to ensure proper handling and responding to user queries raised by various stakeholders.
  5. Coordinate proper operation of correspondence facilities within the section such as help desk reporting lines so as to ensure ease or reporting ICT problems by customers
  6. Oversee daily running of the section’s operations so as to ensure effectiveness is upheld for continued quality service delivery and achievement of set goals and objectives for the section.
  7. Develop, implement and enforce support policies, standards and quality assurance, ICT Strategic Plan execution, and standard operating procedures development
  8. Prepare ticket completion reports per category, staff performance reports and desktop refresh reports each quarter and using the data, prepare a 6 month trend analysis based on the system data.
  9. Prepare technical specifications for procurement of ICT equipment when need be and ensure that they are of the desired standards.
  10. Oversee the coordination of ICT training programmes and development of the ICT Support Knowledgebase platform.
  11. Manage SLAs and KPIs by ensuring the timely resolution of customer tickets as per the Directorates Service Delivery Charter.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field from a recognized University
  2. 5–8 years of experience in ICT support operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  3. Professional certifications such as CCNA ,ITIL etc
  4. Certificate in Customer service or Public relation
  5. Proven experience in managing ICT support teams or helpdesk operations.
  6. Ability to develop and implement ICT support policies, SLAs, and standard operating procedures (SO Ps)
  7. Certificate in report writing

 

  1. INTERNAL AUDITOR GRADE 12

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implementing fraud investigation and anti-corruption policies, strategies, guidelines and plans
  • Compiling data on financial records, systems and processes
  • Carrying out audit checks and identifying and accounting errors
  • Undertaking spot-checks and cash surveys
  • Performing information systems audits
  • Undertaking investigations
  • Developing scripts for mining and analyzing data for routine internal audit activities
  • Carrying out audit follow-ups on implementation of recommendations on audit regulations
  • Undertaking audits on compliance of statutory provision and internal regulations.
  • Preparing documents and taking minutes of the risk and audit committee of the University
  • Preparing internal audit reports

Qualifications:

  • Master Degree in the field of Accounting or Finance from a recognized university
  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting Option) from a recognized university
  • CPA (K)
  • At least six (6) years’ work experience, three (3) in Audit from a recognized institution
  • Computer literate
  • CISA or CIA Certificate will be an added advantage
  • Certificate in new related computer skills
  1. SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR GRADE 13

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implementing fraud investigation and anti-corruption policies, strategies, guidelines and plans
  • Analyzing data for preparing annual internal audit plans
  • Performing information processed and system audit plan
  • Carrying out audit checks and identifying any accounting errors
  • Examining vouchers, cashbooks, ledgers confirming the propriety and accuracy of the transactions
  • Undertaking spot-check and cash surveys
  • Auditing annual accounts
  • Undertaking audit investigations
  • Carrying out audit inspection of the university records
  • Undertaking audits on compliance of statutory provisions and internal regulations
  • Preparing documents and taking minutes of the risk and audit committee of the university.
  • Preparing internal audit reports.

Qualifications:

  • Masters’ Degree in Financial Management or any other relevant area from a registered and recognized institution
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Commerce, Business Management or any equivalent from a registered and recognized institution
  • CPA (K), ACCA or the equivalent qualification
  • At least three (3) years relevant working experience at Grade 12 or equivalent position in the University.
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act
  • Knowledge of Accounting systems
  • Knowledge of the relevant legislations
  • Knowledge of professional standards

  1. HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER – GRADE 14
    Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), the Human Resource Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate human resource management functions of the University to maximize the strategic use of human capital.

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Develop proposals and provide technical guidance on Human Resource policies and strategies for the university within the framework of Industrial and Labor Laws of Kenya.
  • Regularly review the staff establishment and submit recommendations on necessary adjustments.
  • Perform annual Human Resource audits and submit reports to the University Management Board.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of a comprehensive framework for effective succession management in the University.
  • Conduct performance appraisal to establish skills gaps and provide relevant training in the department among members of staff in the university.
  • Prepare notices and advertisements for vacant positions to assist in the attraction of competent candidates for enhanced service delivery.
  • Develop human resource work plans, budgets and procurement plans to ensure continuous provision of services and ensure staff have the requisite tools and equipment to perform their tasks
  • Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupation and job positions in the University to ensure proper placement and compensation
  • Oversee the welfare of the staff through medical services, provision of logistical support in cases of bereavement of staff or dependents and provision of relevant insurance cover.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA and WIBA regulations.
  • Provide and coordinate training opportunities for staff and career development.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or any other relevant qualification from a registered and recognized institution
  • For those with Masters degree with NO Human Resource Management Specialization a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Human Resource Management is a must.
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or any other relevant degree from a registered and recognized institution
  • At least three (3) years working experience as an Assistant Registrar or equivalent position in the University.

  1. HEAD OF PROCUREMENT – GRADE 15

This position is responsible for the implementation of strategies, policies, and manuals in the University’s Supply Chain Management function in accordance with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (PPADA), 2015, and Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Regulations (PPADR), 2020.

Duties and Responsibilities;

This position reports to the Vice Chancellor and its duties entail: –

  • Coordinating, developing, and implementing policies, procedures, systems, structures, and frameworks for all procurement-related activities to deliver best practice procurement and contract management solutions to the University;
  • Overseeing adherence to contractual agreements, recommending amendments, advising suppliers and users on contractual rights and obligations, as well as coordinating all phases of negotiation of disputes arising from contracts;
  • Supervising/overseeing the preparation and distribution of invitations to tender and managing/ conducting all aspects of the tender exercise;
  • Establishing and maintaining work programs and time frames for processing requests per the procurement manual;
  • Providing expertise, authoritative advice to key University stakeholders on all aspects of procurement strategies and practices to inform business planning, action, encourage innovative approaches, and enhance value through improved procurement efficiency and outcomes;
  • Consolidating the annual procurement plan for the University based on departmental procurement estimates to offer input in the development of the University’s budget;
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of internal procurement policies for use in directing procurement activities in the University;
  • Participating in, overseeing the development of long-term and short-term sourcing strategies for the University to enable the attraction and retention of reliable suppliers;
  • Establishing, leading a university-wide procurement governance and risk management framework to monitor, manage, and drive procurement performance;
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, policies, and managing risks related to procurement;
  • Preparing, implementing, and reviewing the department’s strategic plan and annual work plan;
  • Conducting annual appraisal of members of staff in the department;
  • Preparing the department’s annual budget and procurement plan; and
  • Any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Vice Chancellor.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Certified Procurement and Supply Professional of Kenya (CPSP-K);
  • Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of work experience and/or in grade 12 and above.
  • Hold a valid practicing License for supply chain management from the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM);
  • Registration with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or equivalent professional body and in good standing;
  • Certificate in leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized and accredited institution will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (PPADA), 2015
  • Proficiency in computer applications.

6. DEPUTY HEAD OF PROCUREMENT – GRADE 14

This position is responsible for the implementation of strategies, policies and manuals in the University’s Supply Chain Management function in accordance with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (PPADA), 2015, and Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Regulations (PPADR), 2020.

Main Duties and Responsibilities;

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the Deputy Head of Procurement will;

  • Develop departmental policies and strategy plans in the University;
  • Manage and control the budgets and consolidate procurement plans from different departments;
  • Monitor compliance with the relevant statutory and regulatory requirements;
  • Coordinate formulation and implementation of policies to guide the procurement process in the institution;
  • Develop Work Plans in the department to assist in the smooth running of the Department;
  • Control procurement procedures within the statutory framework to avoid malpractices and misappropriation of funds in the institution;
  • Supervise, train, and develop the procurement team to achieve a good, efficient, and competent team;
  • Oversee the process of tendering and quotations in accordance with the relevant legal requirements;
  • Monitor compliance with the Public Procurement and Disposal Act and other procurement-related legal requirements in the department and across all units in the institution;
  • Communicate to bidders on the tender outcome according to the legal provisions and best practice.
  • Ensure the goods are purchased, inspected, accepted, and stored well;
  • Prepare briefs for the negotiation committee during the evaluation process;
  • Carry out market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Head of procurement.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Certified Procurement and Supply Professional of Kenya (CPSP-K);
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of work experience and/or in grade 11 and above.
  • Hold a valid practicing License for supply chain management from the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM);
  • Registration with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or equivalent professional body and in good standing;
  • Certificate in leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized and accredited institution will be an added advantage.
