The course envisages developing and broadening understanding of Higher Education, in terms of events that influence developments, contributors to its developments, successes and failures.Ìý This is an important course for all students and professional teachers, education practitioners, university faculty, management in non-governmental organizational, higher education institutions and community development.Ìý The course is meant to help the learner appreciate, gain knowledge, understanding of major trends and developments formulate and implement better philosophies of higher education.
Purpose of the course
The course purposes to further enhance the acquisition of knowledge and skills in the field of Higher Education. In addition, the course is meant to promote research competence skills that have been emphasized in the traditional research based only approach.It isalso intended to meet and provide employer/development needs and demands for well-grounded qualified workforce, in-depth study of contemporary issues and challenges in Higher Education. Respond to the changing societal demands in a fast evolving local and global labour market affecting employability of doctoral graduates within and outside academic institutions for lifelong education and training.
