This program imparts students with the requisite skills and competencies for managing knowledge based assets of any organization. The programme is designed to equip students with appropriate domain knowledge in knowledge management. |
| Programme objectives | Graduates from this programme should be able to:
·        Adapt various methods and strategies for the acquisition, capture organization, sharing, use and reuse of knowledge ·        Create, preserve, retain, and organize knowledge for organizational success; ·        develop leadership in decision making that will ensure competitive advantage for institutional success ·        adapt and develop information and communication technologies in knowledge management ·        formulate cutting edge research to address institutional problems emanating from poor management of knowledge-based assets |
| Justification / Rationale | The emergence of the knowledge-based economy has created the need to effectively collect, organize, and synthesize knowledge that organizations generate. Consequently, knowledge management is an essential area of activity in various organizations if they have to remain relevant and competitive. This activity has created a need for the training of professionals who are capable of developing and implementing knowledge management initiatives within their organizations. |
| Entry Requirements | Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science or any other information related degree course from a recognized institution and attained Second Class Honours (Upper Division).
                                            OR Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science or any other information related degree course from a recognized institution and attained Second Class (Lower Division) with 1 (one) year relevant work experience. |
