Entry Requirements

Bachelor鈥檚 Degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent in related field from any disciplines from 吃瓜头条 or any other recognized university.
Those with Second Class (Lower Division) may be considered on condition that they have Grade 鈥淐鈥� and above in units relevant to their areas of specialization.

Mode of Study
The programmes are offered in various modes of study which include; Full-time, Institution based, Part-time and Open learning. Full-Time Programmes: Students who join this mode of study undertake full-time studies in the various campuses which include; 吃瓜头条 (Main Campus) and satellite campuses. Institution Based Programmes: Institution based programmes are offered in the months of April, August and December Part Time Programmes: The classes are usually conducted in the evenings and on weekends.

Course Duration
The Master of Arts degree in Gender and Development studies extends over a period of not less than 18 months from the date of registration.
Programme Structure
The course is offered by either:Course work, examination and thesis.Course work, examination and project A Thesis shall be equivalent to 8 units A project shall be equivalent to 4 units A unit shall cover 35 contact-hours.

1st Year
All students will take 8 units as follows: Semester I- Four (4) Core Units One (1) Elective Unit
Semester II- Four (4) Core Units One (1) Elective Unit.

2nd Year聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 –
Students who undertake their studies through course work, examination and thesis will spend their 2nd year writing a thesis under the supervision of the department Students taking studies by course work, examination and project will take 4 elective courses during聽聽 the first semester and do research and write their project in the 2nd semester guided by the supervisor(s).

Examination Regulations

The common university regulations shall apply. Each unit shall be marked out of 100. Continuous Assessment shall be 40% while the Final Examination shall be 60%. The pass mark for the Masters degree shall be 50%.Grading shall be as follows: 70% and above (A); 60-69% (B); 50-59% (C);0-49% (D); 0-39% (Fail).
