Introduction
This is a short course in Basic German Language offered by 吃瓜头条 in collaboration with partners using phonetical-based approach. It aims to equip participants with proficiency in basic German language skills within a short period of time. This initiative responds directly to the Kenya Government鈥檚 desire to promote gainful employment by tapping onto the employment opportunities that exist in German labour market.
Background:
The Government of the Republic of Kenya has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Republic of Germany. The MoU seeks to promote access to the German labour market by skilled and semi-skilled Kenyans to partly fill the country鈥檚 skills gap of 250,000 workers annually. As part of the Kenya Government鈥檚 commitment to promote productive and sustainable employment opportunities, especially to the youth, it has prioritized equipping them with employable skills for effective participation in the german labour market. A key eligibility criterion is Proficiency in聽German Language聽to at least聽Level B1聽on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). Towards this end, 吃瓜头条 has unveiled this short-course in Basic German Language to be offered at聽Levels A1, A2 and B1.
Why take a Short Course in Basic German Language at 吃瓜头条.
The short course in Basic German Language offered by 吃瓜头条 is based on a well-designed and structured curriculum that enables learners to attain proficiency in basic German language within a short period of time. The course emphasizes practical communication skills, reading comprehension and grammatical skills required for day-to-day interactions in a German-speaking environment.
Course Delivery:
The Basic German Language Programme will be offered at聽Levels A1, A2 and B1聽with each level taking two months.聽聽聽It will adopt a blended learning approach, incorporating both face-to-face interaction and online mode. The in-person mode will accommodate at most 40 students per class. It will be conducted in venues approved by 吃瓜头条. Simultaneously, there will be virtual lessons accessible to the participants through various platforms. This mix will ensure flexibility and outreach to majority of Kenyans. Examination and Certification:
Upon course completion, participants will have the opportunity to take the B1 German language exam, conducted by German Government recognized examination bodies. This certification is internationally recognized and will significantly enhance the employability of the graduates. There will be a separate cost for this external examination payable directly by the course participants to the examining body.
