The degree in library and information science gives students the requisite skills and competencies in information and knowledge management, information and communication technologies, information systems, and digital and multimedia systems.

In this society, libraries are critical in the collection, organization, and dissemination of information to users. The degree of Bachelor of Library and Information Science makes students competent in delivering library services and also enables the students to understand and appreciate the functions and purpose of libraries and Information centres in contemporary society.
