Introduction
The Department of Physics is part of the School of Pure and Applied Sciences (SPAS) offering Bachelor of Science (Telecommunication and Information technology). The Bachelor of Science (Telecommunication and Information Technology) programme seeks to prepare the next generation of graduates with knowledge and skills necessary in solving current and emerging scientific and technological problems in diverse spheres of life. It is based on the belief in learner-centred experiential approach to learning and teaching which is transformative, so that the graduates are able to create themselves in preparedness for the world of work.

Justification/Rationale
In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Kenya Vision 2030 development blueprint, and the ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ Vision, the B.Sc. (Telecommunication and Information Technology) programme is designed to equip graduates with knowledge, skills and attitudes for analyzing data from the diverse fields with application of computer programming. The skills will empower graduates to deal with societal issues including food insecurity, diseases, pollution, and promote sustainable utilization of diverse resources. The review of B.Sc. (Telecommunication and Information Technology) programme was carried out in order to ensure that the courses are rich and are in line with current developments in the field of physics, signal transmission, technology and demands of the job market. It will enhance employability of the graduates and their capacity to tackle issues facing society.

The common regulations for all Undergraduate degrees in the University shall apply.

Mode and Structure of Delivery
BSc (TIT) programme is a full-time programme.
Programme Duration
The programme covers a minimum of four academic years and consists of both theoretical and practical units.
Curriculum Highlights
Each student is required to take a minimum of 52 units. In the first and second year of study all units are core units. In the third and fourth year of study students take core units and elective units in Telecommunication and Information Technology. In the third year students are required to undertake industrial attachment while in the fourth year, they do a project (both should be relevant to their area of specialization).
